Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel’s Iftikhar Hamdani hails bold tourism relief plan
New initiative targets recovery amid operational pressures
DUBAI – Ajman’s hospitality sector has received a significant vote of confidence as Iftikhar Hamdani, Area General Manager of Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel, publicly endorsed a newly introduced tourism incentive package aimed at revitalising the emirate’s tourism industry.
The initiative, launched by the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, comes at a critical time for hotels navigating persistent operational challenges. Industry leaders say the measures reflect a strong understanding of current market pressures while reinforcing long-term growth ambitions.
The programme has been introduced under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council. It is designed to provide targeted financial relief to hospitality businesses facing reduced occupancy levels, tighter profit margins and ongoing fixed costs.
Relief measures
Hamdani described the package as a “forward-thinking” response, highlighting key elements such as a six-month deferral on tourism fee payments, waiver of late payment penalties and the introduction of flexible payment schemes. According to him, these measures go beyond routine administrative adjustments and instead address the operational realities faced by hotels across the emirate.

He also acknowledged the role of Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, and Mahmoud Alhasmi, Director General of the department, in shaping a responsive and industry-focused initiative.
The relief programme is expected to ease immediate financial strain while allowing hospitality operators to maintain service standards without compromising quality due to budget constraints. Industry stakeholders view this as a critical factor in sustaining Ajman’s competitiveness as a tourism destination.
Sector confidence
Beyond short-term support, the initiative is being seen as a broader signal of Ajman’s ambition to position itself as an investment-friendly destination. Hamdani noted that such policies strengthen trust between government entities and private sector stakeholders, which remains essential for building a resilient tourism ecosystem.
Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel has reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the tourism authority and industry partners to sustain recovery momentum. The focus remains on enhancing guest experiences while contributing to the emirate’s positioning as a preferred destination for both regional and international travellers.
